Cyrus’s Madness

After the Collapse all of the Gods were given mortal forms. They had been cut off from their godly thrones. They all took this in different ways. The saints took it as a chance to get closer to those who worshiped them. While the Princes took this pretty hard. Selene disappeared, Zyna wanted her throne back so she began to make some plans for the far off future. She knew that the Saints would stand in her way so she would have to wait till they were out of the picture. Cyrus however, was willing to do anything to get his throne back.

He looked to his allies, the other Princes. Soon however he found that they didn’t wish to help him without assurance that they would ascend too. This deeply offended Cyrus so took the chance to kill the others who he thought would eventually work against him. 

First was Lokfiikshul. Lokfiikshul was attempting to get his dragon’s back up and running, he wanted to make some new forms of the Vicas that once existed back on Euko. Before any of this could be done Cyrus found husband killed him to subsume his essence. With his new found powers he looked for new prey.

Soon he stumbled upon what was left of Morus. Morus had been having a bad go of it once he became a mortal. Without his godly power Morus was starting to fall prey to his own diseases. Though he wished to live, Morus could not do much to stop Cyrus from killing him. While Cyrus himself saw it as a mercy. The powers of Morus made him stronger than he had felt in a long long time.

Now Cyrus turned his sights towards the Saints. Only one could stand against him now and he aimed to stop her. Elise could put an end to it, especially now that her powers were returning with so many people praying to her. Cyrus made his move but before he could make it to her Rhesus stepped in the way. Rhesus did not wish to see an ally of his attacked without him at least attempting to stop it.

Their battle lasted for days. The effects were felt in the surrounding regions. Though after a few days both realized that before long Cyrus would be victorious. In a moment of quick thinking Rhesus killed himself. He knew that if Cyrus absorbed his powers then his force for good would be corrupted and ultimately used to defeat all the other Saints.

Once this was over the other Saints stepped in. The only reason they had not done so sooner was at the command of Rhesus who wished for an honorable duel no matter what Cyrus tried to do. The united might of the Saints brought Cyrus to his knees. Though they realized that if they were to slay him and take his essence then they could be as corrupted as he is. So instead they banished some of his powers from his body to be taken by some poor mortal’s soul.

With the loss of most of his powers Cyrus was driven thoroughly mad. He began to wander Erasure looking for revenge on the Saints. He would kill anyone who reminded him of them. This eventually led to his new name of The Reaper. And his eventual downfall at the hands of Stirgis and Maria.
